Developmental concerns: autism, ADHD, speech and sensory
I don't treat autism or ADHD, and I'm wary of anyone who says they do. What I do is help the child underneath the diagnosis feel and function better, alongside the team you already have.
What families come to me for
A child with an autism diagnosis who sleeps four hours a night and eats five foods. A child with ADHD whose stomach hurts every day and who is always constipated. A toddler in speech therapy who seems tired and pale. Parents come to me because the therapies are underway, the specialists are in place, and the child's everyday health is still getting in the way of all of it.
A child who isn't sleeping, isn't digesting and isn't getting the nutrients they need cannot get the most out of speech therapy, OT, or school. That is where I work.
What I look at
Digestion is almost always part of the conversation. Constipation, reflux and very selective eating are common in children with developmental differences, and they affect mood, sleep and attention. I look at nutrient status, because narrow diets leave gaps, and iron, zinc, vitamin D, B vitamins and omega-3 fats all matter for a developing brain. I look at sleep closely. And I ask about sensory issues around food, since those shape what a child will eat far more than preference does.
Testing is targeted and explained. I don't order large panels for their own sake, and I'll never recommend a test or a treatment I can't justify to you plainly.
What a plan looks like
Getting the gut comfortable. Filling the nutrient gaps testing shows, in forms a child will actually take. Working on sleep. Widening the diet slowly and without a fight, using what we know about that child's sensory needs. All of it coordinated with your pediatrician, developmental specialist and therapists, so the plan supports their work rather than competing with it.
What I will not do
I won't claim to reverse, cure or recover a child from autism or ADHD. I won't recommend chelation, unproven protocols, or removing a child from prescribed medication. I won't sell you a supplement stack. If you're looking for a practitioner who promises those things, I'm not the right fit, and I'd rather say that here than after a visit.
What I can offer is a doctor who takes the time, listens to what you see at home, and helps your child be as healthy and comfortable as possible so everything else has a chance to work. That often starts with digestion and nutrition. For many of these children a clinic is the hardest part of any appointment, which is one reason I see families at home.
Questions parents ask
Do you diagnose autism or ADHD?
No. Diagnosis comes from a developmental pediatrician, psychologist or similar specialist. I support the health of children who already have a diagnosis, or who are waiting for an evaluation.
Will you work with our pediatrician and therapists?
Yes, and I prefer to. With your permission I will share what I find and what I am recommending, so everyone on your child's team is working from the same information.
My child takes medication for ADHD. Is that a problem?
Not at all. I do not change or stop prescribed medication. My work sits alongside it.
Is there testing involved?
Sometimes, when the history points to a nutrient gap or a digestive issue worth measuring. I explain what each test would tell us before we order it, and I do not run large panels on every child.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Lyle!! She is kind, welcoming, professional, and extremely knowledgable. As a new mom of a 6 month old I was nervous about finding the best care for my little one, but I can say for certain we will be seeing Dr. Lyle for life. She understood my holistic preferences and provided us with wonderful advice in various areas of development. It is easy to tell she loves her work and is passionate about providing the highest level of care. I will send everyone I know her way!
We love Dr. Lyle! My daughter has been going to Dr. Lyle since she was 6 months & it was truly the best decision i could’ve made for her! Dr. Lyle has been an absolute blessing for us, she is super supportive & understanding. My daughter has been having skin issues since birth and she has been determined to help us every step of the way. Whenever my daughter is sick, Dr. Lyle is very responsive and helpful. She really is the best & has your kiddos best interests at heart!
Dr. Lyle is just fantastic! In home or in office visits?! She spends so much time, is so caring and knowledgeable. We needed a blood draw for my child, and she was beyond patient, helpful with explaining, and respectful of my daughters fears surrounding the procedure. So nice to have a doctor who can help you make the best choices for your family, and meet children where they are. Super thorough! Looking forward to future appointments, strongly recommend.
